Jennifer Orange has led a number of projects that aim to use tech to give disadvantaged individuals more control over their lives. As founder of a health tech start-up, she led the development of web-based and iOS applications that provided individuals with a tool to track their own symptoms and medications. The tool would then generate charts and graphs that patients present to their doctors to ensure that their lived experience of disease outside of hospitals was seen and heard.Orange’s involvement in health technology has influenced her human rights legal scholarship as she focuses on how individuals can use tech to learn about their rights and take action to realize their rights.
